The Gay Manuel Antonio (GMA) will make every effort to only post commentary on any subject that is respectful. This includes commentary via social media posts, responding to comments on social media, responding to texts and messages through social media, or other electronic media.
GMA will post commentary about community events, resources, re-posted news articles, GMA articles or opinions that we feel might be of interest to our community and relevant to GMA's purpose. All suggestions by the public for posting on its medias will be reviewed and none are guaranteed for re-posting.
GMA has an expectation by all members of the public to also be respectful when using any medias associated with GMA. If commentary by any member of the public is not respectful, then there is no expectation for GMA to respond.
Posts and messages that are bullying, attacking, threatening, discriminatory, hateful, or otherwise harassing will not be posted. This includes multiple ‘rapid fire’ or persistent posting, persistent negative commentary, trolling, defamatory commentary, excessive swearing, spreading unfounded rumours, attempts to diminish people’s or organizations’ reputations, attempts to create failure scenarios, forwarding false information, and ‘piling-on’ posts by multiple people.
Harassing posting and commentary may result in cessation of commentary and discussion, deleting or hiding conversations from social media, and/or banning people from the GMA social media.
Other organizations are welcome to adopt this policy as their own as a way to protect, enhance and elevate the LGBTQ+ community.
